My name’s Dean James; a Personal Trainer, massage therapist and nutritionist in Thanet, Kent. My ambition is to positively change people’s lives, helping to create a healthier and happier lifestyle. From a very young age I have always had a love for sport, with football being at the centre of my life. Continuing my passion, I graduated University with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, qualified as a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist, before completing a master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning.
At the age of 23, after 6 years of working at a fruit and veg shop, which was my part-time job throughout university, I found myself stuck there, struggling to find a job I wanted to do where I could utilise my qualifications, feeling a little lost. This is when a friend approached me and asked for my professional help to assist him in the gym. I trained with him twice a week, taught him everything I knew and within 3 months, he had lost 3 stone and reached his goal weight! This is where my love for Personal Training began. Realising that I can help others achieve their goals, not only through my methods and strategies, but through motivation and my support felt so rewarding. Seeing such positive changes and how these changes affected his mindset really fashioned my love for personal training.
With my knowledge and skill set expanding, I'm always coming up with new ideas to push my clients to achieve optimal results! I practice what I preach! I will always use the same methods of exercise and implement the same styles during my clients sessions within my own training so I know first hand how effective they are and how I can adapt to my clients fitness levels and needs. My clientele is widespread; from weight loss to muscle gain, performance, recovery and rehabilitation, to overall fitness and health. The different array of specific goals has helped me grow and adapt as a trainer which has really reflected on my clients success.
